Enamelled Copper Poppies Wall Art, Somewhere Near Stamford
Poppies Wall Art inspired by the scenes we see during walks with our dogs Mr Taj & Miss Manali.
We walk our dogs Taj and Manali in fields near Stamford, the town where I live. The fields are beautiful and colourful and keep changing colours throughout the year. Sunflowers, Poppies and a wide variety of wildflowers are a common sight.
The “Somewhere near Stamford” series captures my impressions of these colours and scenes using copper sheet, enamel powder and glass beads.
I really must make more of these tiles. I have loads of different photos of Poppies from the walks.
I can attempt to make images like this from your pictures. Do contact me if you would like to discuss a bespoke tile or set of tiles of a photo you took. A Landscape picture could look good as a Triptych.
The Jubilee Journey Jamboree Exhibition by Stamford artist Karen Neale and friends is being held at Stamford Arts Centre from 23rd May to 17 June 2022.
Due to a last minute cancellation the Stamford Arts Centre Gallery became available from 21 May to 18th June. Karen was approached by the venue to ask if she could get something together for these dates. As anyone who has ever been involved in organising events knows exhibition planning is often work of months or weeks. Rarely days!
The amazing superstar that Karen is, she put it all together, invited several local artist friends and we were able to hang our work on Saturday 21st May.
I couldn’t leave the Arts Centre Gallery empty, especially over the Jubilee…
Absolutely right Karen! And we love you for making sure an amazing exhibition is up for the people of Stamford, and visitors to our town, to view and enjoy. Many of the exhibits are for sale and artists’ contact details are available in the gallery to make a purchase directly from the artist.
I am very passionate about our Arts Centre and consider it my second home. I spend so much time there and love the fact that our little town has this wonderful venue for everyone to enjoy.
It is up to us to make sure we use this amazing space regularly and come up with ideas to keep it the vibrant, buzzing place it has always been.
A selection of my enamelled copper work is exhibited and for sale. It can be bought via the Arts Centre Box Office when open. Alternately you can contact me. Details are on the wall next to my display.
As part of the exhibition Karen will be hosting three free drop in sessions for families this school holiday. Pop into the Arts Centre on the 28th May, 30th May or 1st June and help create ‘a Jubilee Journey Jamboree’ community masterpiece. No booking required. Just turn up at Stamford Arts Centre, 27 St Mary’s Street, PE9 1HJ on one of the dates.
Do visit our Jubilee Journey Jamboree Exhibition and celebrate our amazing Arts Centre
