Brain Fog is an abstract piece of enamelled wall art which I really cannot explain, except perhaps to say… Life.
I was creating a wall tile with a flower design on it and a fog took over resulting in this piece. It wasn’t what I set out to enamel, but it is what I ended up with after the last round of sprinkling of glass powder on copper and putting it in the kiln.
My husband thinks it is fantastic. As do a couple of friends who have seen it. I think it is “interesting” and that’s all I am saying ๐
I am really having a lot of fun with enamel. My enamelling kiln has added a whole new dimension to my work.
This picture on copper has been mounted on a piece of recycled pallet wood by my husband Dave.
BRAIN FOG | One-Off Enamelled Copper Wall Art is 14 x 14 cm square. The tile is 10 cm x 10 cm.
This wall mountable picture has a picture hanger attached at the back. If you prefer you can display it using a small plate holder or stand. This would work well for displaying on the mantelpiece or window-sill.
The pallet wood mount has been made using an ancient Japanese method of preserving wood known as Shou Sugi Ban. The wood is burnt using a blow torch. I dyed it using a black water based dye because I think the black background makes the colours really stand out.
Dave works with wood, wire and rocks. Some of his work is listed in my online shop here.
