Labradorite Pendant 01 in a Copper Flower Setting
Labradorite Pendant 01 has a gorgeous rock set in textured copper sheet cut in the shape of a flower.
I used my piercing saw to cut out the flower shape and tabs that secure the stone. I like this setting for rock pendants which showcases the stone beautifully. This amazing piece of Labradorite gives green and gold flashes depending on the angle you view it from.
There is no soldering involved in setting the stone. A lot of sawing and filing does happen. If it is a translucent stone then the copper colour shows through the stone beautifully with this setting.
This Cabochon was bought from Stamford independent business CraftingALifetime.
The flower design Labradorite Pendant 01 is approximately 6 cm round. The cabochon is 2.8 cm. The whole piece has been given an antique patina.
This pendant comes on a beautiful handmade chain which I made from 1mm pure copper. The chain is approximately 21 inches long.
This is a new design (for me) to set cabochons. I used this style to make a bespoke wedding necklace. I liked it so much that I decided to create more necklaces with this setting. Hoping to make more glass and rock pendants like this soon.
The setting shows off most of the cabochon with its beautiful shifting colours.
Commissions welcome for this style of copper setting pendant using one of your own stones or from our selection. Please contact me for a bespoke quotation. Price will be based on stone size and if there is any cutting and polishing required.
