Small Copper Trinket Tray from Salvaged Copper
Small Copper Trinket Tray with edges folded back. Great for keeping your little keepsakes in one place.
I had a small piece of copper sheet in an odd shape. This happens often, especially if the metal is from an old copper tank. Instead of cutting it into a round or square shape I decided to just fold over the edges and see what emerged. It is an interesting shape.
This hammered copper dish has been given a liver of sulphur patina. Maybe a bit extravagant but I also went over it with a small butane torch to give it a little colour 🙂
These dishes are small, this small copper trinket tray is approximately 9 cm and quite shallow. As it is a free form piece the measurement varies depending on where you measure it.
Waste Not Want Not series: Metal was salvaged from an old copper tank to make this copper tray.
I can make these bowls to order for Wedding / Party Favours and Christmas presents. Each one will be a one off.
I will not recommend this style of tray to be used as a coaster because the tray surface is uneven and any cups placed on it could wobble and spill.
Most of my copper designs have been given an flame, colour or antique patina. However, copper will continue to darken naturally over time as it reacts with the oxygen in the air.
Personally, I feel, this natural oxidation process gives your item an ageless, timeless look which is part of the charm of individually handcrafted copper pieces.
