SUMMER HARE 1 One-Off Wall Art
SUMMER HARE 1 is part of a new series of enamelled wall art I made this spring.
It has been fun trying different backgrounds and settings for these little hares to play in. The first Seasonal Hares series has 3 Pictures of a Summer, Autumn and Winter hare. There will be more. Each one will be different.
I am really having a lot of fun with enamel. My enamelling kiln has added a whole new dimension to my work.
This picture on copper has been mounted on a piece of recycled pallet wood by my husband Dave.
SUMMER HARE 1 One-Off Wall Art is 14 x 14 cm square. The tile is 10 cm x 10 cm.
This wall mountable picture has a string at the back. If you prefer you can display it using a small plate holder or stand. This would work well for displaying on the mantelpiece or window-sill.
The pallet wood mount has been made using an ancient Japanese method of preserving wood known as Shou Sugi Ban. The wood is burnt using a blow torch. I dyed it using a black water based dye because I think the black background makes the colours really stand out.
Dave works with wood, wire and rocks. Some of his work is listed in my online shop here.
