Something Different

I have not made many copper things recently but I did help Mr A do this.

It is a box to keep the lovely Intrinsic Colour dyes for wood, the same used in making the trays with copper handles. Doing something different for a change was a lot of fun! 🙂

At last we can share the result of our self imposed "scrap wood challenge", we are thrilled with it. Since you last saw this box it's been burnt in the Shou Sugi Ban style, been brushed right back to raise the grain. Colouring is courtesy of @shaliniaustin using the @hampshiresheen intrinsic coulour range, so this has been a real team effort. The real head scratching moment was trying to figure out how to secure the lid. We could only use what we had and we had no hinges or clasps, a couple of 6mm t nuts and bolts provided the solution. Finally the box has been given two coats of Tung Oil.
