Embossed & Textured Copper Heart Pendant 02
Copper Heart Pendant 02 with a floral pattern.
I used a piercing saw to cut out the heart pattern from sheet copper. The copper heart was then printed with this beautiful floral pattern using a Rolling Mill. I gave the piece a slight curve using my wooden doming block. The heart was then finished with Liver of sulphur to give it an aged look.
I made the copper heart from copper salvaged from an old copper tank. The metal was not smooth to start with and this has given the piece lovely texture gained by years of use in its previous life. The antique finish makes these textures stand out even more.
The copper heart is 4.5 cm long and 3.1 cm at its widest. Including the bail the pendant is 5cm long.
Chain is 21 inches long. The chain is an anti tarnish copper coloured iron alloy. It is not a pure copper chain.
